Are Dusky Dolphins Endangered:
As you can see in this picture Duksy Dolphins are endangered because a lot of people slaughter them.

- Food chain: A food chain is somewhat a linear sequence of links in a food web starting from a tropic species that eats no other species in the web and ends at a trophic species that is eaten by no other species in the web. S you can see in the picture in below the food chain starts off with the sprout. Then the sprout grows into a tree, the tree is eaten by a caterpillar, the caterpillar is eaten by a bird, the bird is eaten by a eagle, the eagle dies and the decomposer eats the carcass of the dead eagle.

- Food web: The animals that are in the dusky dolphin's food web are algae, seaweed, plankton, herring, dolphin, crab, seal, limpet, seagull, star fish and mussel.

My animals habitat: Dusky dolphins are found throughout the southern hemisphere. Scientists have recommended that dusky dolphins be classified into regional subspecies because of the differences between populations in Africa, New Zealand, and South America. The dusky dolphin inhabits cool waters ranging in temperature between 50 and 64 degrees F. It prefers waters that are less than 650 feet deep.

- Describe role of decomposer: Decomposers are very important because when a animal dies it leaves behind nutrients and energy in the organic material that are compressed in it's body. The decomposers can feed on the carcasses of the dead animal, but they also leave considerable amount of unused energy and nutrients. Decomposers complete decomposition by breaking down the remaining organic matter. Decomposers convert all organic matter into carbon dioxide and nutrients. This releases raw nutrients in a form usable in a form usable to plants and algae, which incorporate the chemicals into their own cells. This process resupplies nutrients to the ecosystem, in turn allowing for greater primary production. If there are no decomposers in the world than it will smell of raw rotten carcasses.

- Examples of decomposers with: An example of a decomposer is a vulture the reason I said that a vulture is a decomposer is because it
feeds off the energy and nutrient of a dead animals carcass. There are also many more decomposers such as maggots and bacteria because they also feed on off the energy and nutrients of dead animals carcass.

Ecosystem Notes: One ecosystem is a Desert which Is made up of living and non - living organisms that interact with each other.
- Ecosystems are usually categorized by the amount of Rain fall or sunshine the environment gets and the condition of the soil
- Plants and Animals that live in hard weather conditions have to adapt by using special tricks to conserve water like if they live in a desert
- An Ecosystem can be divided into three categories
- Every organism has it's own home called a habitat

- Ecosystem: Ecosystem is a animal's place where their habitat is. Also ecosystem is a very complex and very hard understanding interaction of living and non - living things.

- Difference between Environment and Habitat:
- Habitat is the environment in which human beings live, work, reproduce and move around.

Environment includes all living & non living things that exist on this earth. The living things include all the plants, animals including man, & micro organisms.the non living factors include the air. water, oceans, rocks, mountains, soil, man made objects like bridges, buildings. Environment is very vast & habitat is a part of it. If we consider the entire school as the environment, the class room is like the habitat.

- Habitat & Environment: An Environment contains living and non - living organisms that has light, water, even the soil is important to complete the environment, while the habitat is where the animal or organism lives.

- Difference between Environment and Habitat:
A Habitat is a living organism's home, where the organism can find it's needs. While an environment is the organism's surrounding.

- Difference between Environment and Ecosystem: I think that Environment and Ecosystem are similar but not the same. Environment is usually made up of living organisms such as bugs, animals, and some plants. While Ecosystem is a complex system that is made up of living and non - living things such as Weather, Water, ect.

My animals habitat:
Dusky+Dolphin.jpg
The Dusky Dolphin lives in the oceans of South America, southwestern Africa, New Zealand and various oceans islands with some sightings around southern Australia and Tasmania.

- Dusky Dolphins predators: There are basically two main predators of the Dusky Dolphin one of them is a Killer Whale and the Great White Shark, Thresher Shark etc.

- Nocturnal meaning:
The meaning of Nocturnal is really active at night and less active in the day.

- Diurnal meaning:
The meaning of Diurnal is really active in the day and less active in the night

- Meanings:
Mutualism ------> "When both animals benefits"
Parasitism ------> "When one animal benefits and the other gets injured"
Commensalism ------> "When one animal benefits and the other does not get injured"

- Nocturnal and Diurnal:
My animal is a diurnal because in the day time you can see them jumping out of the water and swimming with it's family. During midnight or night hours the Dusky Dolphin is asleep and is not doing anything.

- Are Dusky Dolphins dangerous:

As you can see in this video Dusk Dolphins are harmless and will not try to harm you.

- How does a Dusky Dolphin give birth:

I apologize that I could not find a "Dusky Dolphin" giving birth so I just took this video.

- What identifies the Dusky Dolphin:
Many dolphins look a like, but there are some special feature which you can identify the Dusky dolphin. One way to identify a Dusky Dolphin is by it's white weird marks on both sides of the Dolphin. You can also identify it dorsal fin a bit. The reason I say this is because the Dusky Dolphins dorsal fins are black, however they have the gray spot in the back of it's dorsal fin.

- Dusky Dolphin:
Features --------> Visible -------> Black top, white underbelly, weird white marks, blunt but straight dorsal fin, a slope from the head to the beak and sharp teeth.
--------> Behavior ----> Curious, agile, enjoys contact with boats and people, like to travel in a group of 100 dolphins and while eating sexual activity amongst Dusky Dolphins tend to increase.

- Different species of dolphins:
These are some of the different types of Dolphin species. Many of you might be wondering is a Killer Whale in the Dolphins family and trust me it is, but it also eats his family members (dolphins).

- Breeding:
Dusky dolphins are believed to begin mating between the ages of 6 – 8.
The average gestation period (the period from conception to birth) lasts from 12 – 13 months for female dolphins and pregnancy occurs once every 2 1/2 – 3 years.
After birth mothers may nurse their children for up to 12 months at which they feed on their mother’s milk and can be seen traveling beside her.
During this nursing period mothers and their young often gather in shallow waters where they can rest and take care of their babies and provide better protection from threats.
Dusky dolphins are not a monogamous species and male groups of up to 10 can be seen taking turns mating with a single female during reproductive periods.
In addition to breeding dusky dolphins may also mate for social purposes not to reproduce but to bond.
